Ruth Carney, Narromine LALC

Ruth Carney is a proud Narroimine Elder, having lived and worked in the Narroimne regional all her life. Ruth was the first Aboriginal councillor on the Narromine Shire Council and now operates a lease with Narromine Shire Council to run a historical museum that houses the history of Narromine as well as Aboriginal artefacts.

TRRA acknowledges the aspirations of the Aboriginal peoples to participate more fully in the social, cultural, economic and political life of the region in a way that preserves and enhances Aboriginal cultures and identities of the region and increases control, self-sufficiency and sustainability of its member communities.

The story of Three Rivers Regional Assembly could not be told without recognising their achievements.
