National NAIDOC Week 2020 celebrations will be held from the 8-15 November.

The November dates follow the decision by the National NAIDOC Committee (NNC) to postpone NAIDOC Week from the original July dates due to the impacts and uncertainty from the escalating Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic across our communities and cities.

The postponement was aimed at protecting our elders and those in our communities with chronic health issues from the disastrous impacts of COVID19.

As cooler weather approaches the need to protect our most susceptible remains.

Further announcements regarding the National NAIDOC Awards and the reactivation of the 2020 NAIDOC Local Grants Round will be made within coming weeks.

The NNC understands that the July dates for NAIDOC may still be acknowledged by communities and organisations, however we are mindful that those celebrations and physical gatherings will still be impacted by the various State and Territory COVID19 restrictions and social distancing measures.

We acknowledge the commitment and tireless work of the many State, Territory, regional and local NAIDOC Committees, organisations and individuals whose passion each year makes NAIDOC Week an outstanding success.

We thank you for your understanding and working with us during these uncertain times.

The NNC are continuing to work with our partners and key stakeholders to make NAIDOC Week 2020 a suitable and fitting celebration of #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe

It's a long post but worth every second...#TeamNyngan, what a team! We just had to share these ANZAC Day celebrations for 2020. The Nyngan Health Service and the Community came together for a very special ANZAC Day Service.

The amazing Ms Collier, Ebony, Lily and Jack from Nyngan High School drummed (from Lily and Jacks front yard) as Elwyn and Rae made their way to the service.

Nyngan Health Service staff member and daughter of a WW2 veteran, Lyn Webster, gave a heartfelt tribute.

The co-located NSW Ambulance staff, Joe and Jade, laid wreaths for residents.

The amazing Cory (AKA Steven Spielberg) also from NSW Ambulance team gave his time freely to capture the event in pictures and also in video. The video will be given to the residents and families to remember Anzac Day 2020.

The Nyngan community donated over 70 poppies and pictures which were displayed on the day.

A big thanks to the Nyngan High School P&C who donated morning tea for the residents to share.

Nyngan Health Service was able to stream the event into 13 families across 3 states which enabled families to be connected during these tough times.

In the words of one of the families watching - it was simple, beautiful and moving.

We are incredibly proud of former Peak Hill Central School student and Wiradjuri artist Scott “Sauce” Towney. Sauce competed to win the rights for his artwork to be embossed on the $1 coin. The artwork explores the wonder and majesty of the Emu in the Sky constellation. Sauces artwork is part of the Stardreaming series for the Australian mint.
On behalf of the PHCS community we are incredibly proud of your achievement and look forward to showcasing more of your amazing artworks around our school.
